So here we were. The day before we left Brooklyn – my hubby Phil, Noemie, Leila-Camil and myself. This day was August 17th, 2013 in DUMBO, our favorite place in the BK. Noemie and Leila-Camil were six and four years old respectively and I was was five months pregnant. With a new vision for our family and broadened vision for our work, hubby and I set out across country to the Bay. Not knowing but imaginations running wild… we were ready.
We always knew one day we would venture off from the NYC. Our work of course would remain there. Rooted in the big apple we knew when we left it would always be our home and we would be in and out. All along while here there with out little family, we did not know when we’d leave. We did not know where we would end up. We did know that my hubby’s work could put us anywhere in the world … and so could mine.
In the back of our minds on this day, questions and thoughts circled and swarmed. The new school for the girls awaits. The new role for hubby at work awaited. A whole new place for me to bring my work. No limits I thought but wondered where this would all take us.
New possibilities, a new horizon, maybe even a new way of life. Ultimately, its still us. Just us. Our little family we began in Brooklyn and the careers we went after with the world at our feet when it all began. When we met who knew this would be us one day! Here is to Brooklyn: We came, we saw, we lived… we moved! What’s in store in this next chapter? Only time will tell…
